Begin your 9-day journey in Agadir, Morocco by meeting your tour guide at the airport or accommodation and enjoy some traditional Moroccan dates. Travel along the Atlas coast and take in the stunning panoramic landscape. Stop at argan shops to learn about the production of authentic argan oil and see goats climbing the argan trees. Continue on to Essaouira and join a small group tour to discover the UNESCO-protected medina. Visit popular attractions such as Skala Kasbah, indulge in delicious seafood, and watch the colorful blue boats. End the day by watching a breathtaking sunset with seagulls. Spend your first night at a local hotel or riad.
After breakfast, continue your journey towards Marrakech, taking in the sights and sounds of the road trip. Upon arrival in Marrakech, start exploring the city. Begin at Djemaa el Fna, a square and marketplace in the Marrakech medina quarter (old city), which is a popular spot for both locals and tourists. Visit the Koutoubia mosque, the largest mosque in the city. If time permits, explore other popular attractions in Marrakech. Return to your riad for overnight stay.
Today, you will be heading south from Morocco, traveling over the high Atlas mountains and passing through various Berber villages. Enjoy the breathtaking landscapes and colorful views. Stop at the top of Tizi n’Tichka, which reaches an elevation of 2,260 meters (7,415 ft) above sea level. Continue the journey to Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, located in the province of Ouarzazate. This is a group of earthen buildings surrounded by high walls, and it is a traditional pre-Saharan habitat. Take this opportunity to explore the area and take pictures. You will have lunch there before leaving for Ouarzazate, also known as the "gate to the desert" as the climate becomes more Saharan. Visit the popular Atlas Film Studio, where many famous movies have been filmed. As you continue on to the town of Dades Valley, you will pass through Roses Valley. Once you arrive, you will spend the night in a comfortable hotel.
Begin the day early and head towards Erg Chebbi. Along the way, make a stop in Tinghir to see the Oasis river and take in the panoramic view. Also, take time to explore Todra Gorges, a 400-meter-deep canyon. Next, visit Erfoud and Rissani to explore the local markets and learn about the process of converting fossils into decorative items at a workshop. Change to a luxury 4x4 car and continue your journey to Erg Chebbi where you will embark on a unique camel excursion led by an experienced guide. Enjoy the stunning sand dunes and beautiful sunset view. Return to the camp for a delicious dinner and live Saharan music before spending the night in a tent under the stars.
Start the day early to catch the sunrise at the top of your luxury desert camp and try your hand at sandboarding. Afterwards, return to the camp for breakfast and a quick shower. Travel back to your 4x4 by camel. Your tour will then take you to other popular destinations in Morocco, starting with a visit to Rissani market and the Ziz valley, which is known for its second largest palm groves in Morocco. Take in the panoramic view at the top of Ziz Mountain. Continue to the Middle Atlas mountains, passing through fragrant cedar forests. Have lunch in Midelt and visit the Cedar Forest of Azrou where you'll have free time to relax and take pictures with Berber apes. Head towards Ifran, a Moroccan city known as "Little Switzerland". Drive directly to the imperial city of Fes, where you'll spend the night at one of the best hotels or riads in the city.
Fes is one of the four imperial cities in Morocco and is known for its rich history and cultural heritage. Meet your local guide for a half-day tour to explore the city, starting with the medina, which is the oldest in Morocco and was founded over 1000 years ago. Wander through the souks, the city is made up of two parts: Fes el Bali and Fes el-Jadid. Visit Talaa Kebira, one of the longest and most important streets in Fes el-Bali. Next, see the beautiful Al-Attarine Madrasa, which is a madrasa (school) that was built by the Marinid sultan Uthman II Abu Said (1310-1331). Leave the old city and head towards the new one, visiting el Mellah place, where you can enjoy the fantastic view.
Next, travel to Casablanca passing through Meknes. Visit Bab Mansour, the most important and impressive gate of the city. It is located in front of the famous Lahdim Square. Take some free time to explore Lahdim Square, which is the most famous public square in Meknes. Leave Meknes and head to the UNESCO-protected site of Roman Volubilis, which is a partly excavated Berber city. It is located near the city of Meknes and is commonly considered the ancient capital of the kingdom of Mauretania. After visiting Volubilis, transfer to Casablanca to visit the Hassan II Mosque, which is the second-largest functioning mosque in Africa and the 7th largest in the world. Take pictures of the Atlantic Ocean. Head to your local riad for the night.
