The highlight of the trip is undoubtedly our visit to the Sahara desert of Merzouga, where we’ll ride camels and spend a night in a camp in the heart of the desert, witnessing the magical sunset and sunrise.
We’ll also explore the Todra and Dades gorges, the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou Ben Haddou, and cross the High Atlas mountains and the Tizi-n-Tichka pass. Welcome to your 12 Days Tour From Casablanca! Upon your arrival at Mohammad V airport, our team will greet you and assist you in transferring to your hotel. After checking in, you'll have some free time to explore the vibrant city of Casablanca and its beautiful Atlantic coastline. Take in the sights and sounds of this bustling metropolis, known for its stunning architecture, vibrant markets, and rich cultural heritage. Spend the night in Casablanca, resting up for the exciting adventures that lie ahead on your Moroccan journey.
Enjoy a delicious breakfast at your hotel before we embark on an exciting day of sightseeing. Our first stop is in Casablanca, the main commercial capital of Morocco. We'll visit the impressive Hassan II Mosque, the second largest mosque in the world, known for its stunning oceanfront location and incredible architecture that is a testament to Morocco's craftsmanship. Next, we'll head to Place Mohamed V, where we'll marvel at the grandeur of the old government buildings that surround the square. From there, we'll make our way to the beautiful capital city of Rabat. You'll be awed by the recently restored Hassan Tower, which stands tall as a symbol of the city's rich history. We'll also visit the 11th-century Ordains Kasbah, an impressive fortress built in the Andalusian style. As we drive through the picturesque Riff villages, we'll have the opportunity to learn about local traditions and rituals. Finally, we'll reach the charming town of Chefchaouen, known for its blue-washed buildings and stunning mountain scenery. We'll spend the night at a local Riad, soaking up the town's beauty and hospitality.
Your day will begin with a delicious breakfast at the hotel, followed by a full-day tour. In the morning, you'll be taken on a scenic drive to Meknes, an imperial city that has stood since the early days of the Alawite dynasty, which once governed Morocco. During your visit, you'll have the opportunity to see some of the city's most impressive sights, including the grand Babb el-Mansur gateway, the Sahrij Souani Basin, and the lavishly decorated Moulay Ismail Mausoleum. After a satisfying lunch, your journey will continue to Volubilis, which is home to Morocco's most renowned Roman ruins. These ruins date back to the period between AD 24 and 285, and the walls and buildings have been remarkably well-preserved over the years. You'll also have a chance to stop in Moulay Driss Zerhoun, a charming city built into the rocky hills of Khyber and Tazga. The city's buildings spill dramatically down the slopes, creating a breathtaking sight. As the day comes to an end, you'll be driven through the picturesque mountains to Fes, where you'll spend the night in one of our comfortable and welcoming hotels or riads. Your day will begin with a delicious breakfast at your riad, followed by a tour of Fes, the spiritual capital of Morocco. You will be enchanted by the unique atmosphere of this place as you walk through its crowded souks, epic alleyways, and historical monuments. You will start by visiting the magnificent Royal Palace gate, which separates the new Fes from the old. After that, you'll explore some of the city's most iconic cultural and historical landmarks, such as the renowned Al Qaraouine University, the Tanneries, and the Attarine Museum. After a satisfying lunch, your journey will continue to Fes El Bali, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Here, you will immerse yourself in the exotic ambiance of the place and enjoy its winding alleys and historical monuments, including the impressive Babb Boujloud gate, which serves as the medina's main entrance. Fes El Bali is also a haven for local handicrafts, including colorful Moroccan-style leatherwork and metalwork. As the afternoon rolls around, you will visit the new city for a refreshing drink before retiring to your hotel or riad for the night. This promises to be an exciting and unforgettable day, filled with sights, sounds, and experiences you won't soon forget.
After enjoying breakfast, we'll leave Fes and embark on a journey to explore the majestic Atlas Mountains, one of the most fascinating and stunning natural regions in Morocco. Our first stop will be Ifran, a tidy and orderly city that feels like it's been transplanted from Switzerland to the Middle Atlas. From there, we'll continue through a variety of forests, including the famed Cedar Forest, home to endangered Barbary Apes. We'll pass through Tizi Ntalghamtt, where the Ziz Gorges provide a rocky passage to the Tafilalt oases. Along the way, we'll stop in Errachidia to enjoy Berber hospitality and have lunch before continuing on to Erfoud and Rissani, with stunning panoramic views of the Ziz Valley. Upon arriving in Merzouga, you'll be welcomed with a refreshing glass of mint tea at our riad. It's time to unwind, relax and take in the serenity of the desert as it sings to you through the riad, the view, and the people around you. At the end of this exciting day, you'll be treated to one of the world's most stunning sunsets. You'll spend the night in your comfortable and inviting riad, surrounded by the peacefulness of the desert.
We'll start the day early to catch the breathtaking sunrise over the dunes before returning to the Riad for breakfast. Today, we'll get to experience the local way of life. We'll take a tour around the dunes, passing through the beautiful oasis of Merzouga and visiting the Khmilia village, where you can witness the music and lifestyle of the Gnawa people at the Daar Gnawa. Next, we'll visit the stunning Merzouga Lake, where you can spot beautiful flamingos. From there, we'll head to Rissani, a historical city that was once the meeting point for African caravans and the birthplace of many Moroccan kings. Here, you'll explore the souk, where you can find a variety of spices, vegetables, and clothing. After a warm welcome with traditional mint tea, you'll ride your camel guided by an experienced camel man to explore the mysterious sand dunes of Erg Chebbi. In your nomadic tent, you'll have plenty of time to relax and enjoy the sunset over the high golden dunes. Later, you'll have dinner in front of the camp and spend your first night in a cozy tent or under the beautiful starry sky. Upon request, we can also arrange for Berber nomad musicians to play traditional drums and perform a dance around the campfire. For your convenience, the camp is equipped with western bathrooms and showers.
You will wake up early in the morning to climb the sand dunes and witness the breathtaking sunrise at Merzouga. The ever-changing colors of the spectacular Erg Chebbi sand dunes will leave you spellbound. Your camel man will guide you back to the village of Merzouga where you will have breakfast at the Riad. After breakfast, we will depart for Dads Valley, also known as the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs. Along the way, we will pass through Rissani, Erfoud (a historic region rich in fossils and archaeology), and Tinghir, where you can see the traditional rural life of the region and beautifully constructed houses scattered throughout the largest oasis. We will arrive at Todra Gorges, the highest and narrowest gorges in Morocco, with walls reaching up to 300 meters high. This natural wonder is one of the most spectacular attractions in Morocco. Next, we will drive through the Dads Valley, where you can admire the majestic sand castles and unique rock formations known as “monkey toes”, as well as picturesque Berber villages. After checking into your Riad, we will head to Tssidrine road to watch the sunset before spending the night at our Hotel/Riad.
After having breakfast in your hotel, we will continue our 12 days tour from Csablanca through the fascinating Dades Valley, which is a renowned part of the famous Road of a Thousand Kasbahs. We will make a stop at Kalaa-Mgouna, also known as “the rose city”, which is famous for its annual rose festival and where you can buy locally made rosewater and various cosmetic products. Our tour will then take us to Skoura and the bird’s valley, where you can admire the mud brick Kasbahs, especially the well-preserved Kasbah Ameridil. After some hiking in the valley, we will stop for lunch at a restaurant that offers a breathtaking view of the whole valley. Our 12-day tour will then continue to Ouarzazate, which is known as “the Hollywood of Africa” due to its unique geography and stunning landscapes that have attracted numerous world-class movie producers. You will have the opportunity to visit the studios that have props used in movies such as The Mummy, Gladiator and see the famous Kasbah Taourirt, which has served as a backdrop for many Hollywood movies like Sheltering Sky, Gladiator, and Prince of Persia. We will spend the night at our riad.
As part of our 12-day tour from Casablanca, you'll wake up in the middle of the desert to witness the breathtaking sunrise. After breakfast, we'll visit the UNESCO protected Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, known as one of the most beautiful Kasbahs in the region. The Kasbah offers stunning views of the surrounding palms. Next, we'll head to Marrakech via the tizin'tichka pass, where we'll stop to visit the town of Telouet and its ancient 17th century Kasbah. We'll continue exploring the tIzin'tichka road, taking in the picturesque landscape of Berber villages along the way. In the afternoon, you'll have free time to explore Marrakech's vibrant Djemâa El-Fna square, soaking in the atmosphere and enjoying your drinks from the rooftop restaurants. You'll spend the night at our local riad in Marrakech.
On day 11 of our 12-day tour from Casablanca, we'll explore the vibrant city of Marrakesh with a local guide. Our first stop will be the Koutoubia mosque, which was built in the 12th century and is a magnificent example of Moroccan architecture. Next, we'll visit the Majorelle Garden, a peaceful oasis in the heart of the city that's filled with cacti, palms, and ferns. This garden was created by the French painter Jacques Majorelle and is a beautiful tribute to Moroccan nature. We'll then head to the Saadian Tombs, a 16th-century graveyard that's known for its intricate mosaic tiles. After a break for lunch, you'll have some free time to explore the souks, or markets, of Marrakesh. These markets are a must-see attraction and are famous for their wide range of goods, including shoes, carpentry, perfume and spice, and leather products. Be sure to check out the Babouche Souk for shoes, the Chouari open-air market for carpentry items, the El-Attarine Souk for perfume and spice, and the Cherratine Souk for leather goods. You'll also want to wander through the narrow alleys around the Djemâa El-Fna square, where you'll be treated to a mesmerizing display of snake charmers, singers, acrobats, dancers, and storytellers as the evening sets in. We'll spend the night in a beautiful riad in Marrakesh.
Immerse yourself in the vibrant markets of Marrakech as you explore the fascinating souks for shopping. And when it's time to relax, head to a traditional hammam for a soothing spa treatment. Take a break and sip on a delicious mint tea at a local restaurant in Marrakech. On the last day of your 12-day tour from Casablanca, we will arrange for a transfer to the airport based on your departure time. Alternatively, if you have other plans, we can drop you off at the location of your choice.
