Itinerary

This half-day tour in Fes will take you through the medieval medina of Fes el Bali and the modern city of Fes el Jdid. You will start by exploring the streets of the old city and visiting the Bab Boujeloud gate. Then, you will visit the Al Attarine Madrasa, which is known for its rich decoration and efficient use of space, and the Al-Qarawiyyin University, which was founded as a mosque in 859 and became a leading educational center. After that, you will visit the modern city and climb to the rooftop for a view of the city. Finally, you will be transferred to your Riad for the first night of a 9-day private itinerary.

This day of your itinerary will take you to the Roman ruins of Volubilis, a UNESCO-protected site that is a partly excavated Berber city near Meknes. You will then continue on to Chefchaouen, also known as the Blue City. Along the way, you will pass through Ouazzane, the Rif Mountains, and traditional Berber villages. There will be an optional 2-3 hour hike at the Cascades d’Akchour before arriving in Chefchaouen. Once there, you will visit the main square, Plaza Outa el-Hammam, and enjoy a glass of mint tea at a local restaurant. You will then walk through the narrow, blue streets of the city, take pictures at the blue gate, and visit the Spanish Mosque for a final view of the city before returning to your hotel.

Today you will be traveling to the city of Tangier in North Africa. On the way, you will stop in Tetouan, known as the "white dove of North Morocco" to visit an attractive site. Then, you will continue on to Tangier, a city known as the gateway between Europe and Africa. Once there, you will visit the old medina, have a coffee at Zoco Chico square, and explore the neighborhood of Rmilat. If time allows, you may visit other attractive sites before checking into your hotel for the night.

On the fourth day of your trip, you will be heading south to the city of Casablanca. You will depart from Tangier and travel through the Atlas coast, making a stop in Rabat to visit the Hassan II tower, an unfinished tower that is still worth seeing. Then, you will visit Kasbah des Oudaias, an ancient fortress, before continuing on to Casablanca. Once in Casablanca, you will visit the famous Hassan II Mosque, the second-largest mosque in Africa and the 7th largest in the world. You will have the opportunity to admire the view and take photographs of the Atlas coast.

On this day of your trip, your private driver will take you from your current location to Essaouira, passing through the cities of El Jadida and Safi. You will stop for lunch in Safi and take a break to see argan trees. Once you arrive in Essaouira, you will visit shops to learn about the process of making argan oil. You will then head to the port of the city to spend the rest of the day. You will have the opportunity to explore the UNESCO-protected old medina of Essaouira, by walking in Skala de la Kasbah, which is an 18th-century seafront rampart, you will then explore the coast, try street food and head to the beach of Essaouira to catch the sunset. You will end the day by returning to your Riad in Essaouira and spending the night there.

On this day of your trip, you will continue your journey to Agadir, the second most popular tourist city in Morocco. You will travel through the Atlantic coast and have the opportunity to enjoy the panoramic views along the way. Once you arrive in Agadir, you will visit Agadir Oufella, a historical monument located in the ancient city that was affected by an earthquake in 1960. You will have the opportunity to take a walk on the Agadir beach or have a coffee at a restaurant. Afterwards, you will visit the traditional market, Souk el Had, (Sunday market) and later in the day, head to Taghazout to see a spectacular sunset.

On this day of your trip, you will be leaving Agadir and heading to Marrakech, enjoying the scenic road trip along the way. Once you arrive in Marrakech, you will start exploring the city by visiting the Djemaa el fna, a square and marketplace in the medina quarter (old city) which is the main square of Marrakech, popular among locals and tourists. You will also visit the Koutoubia mosque, the largest mosque in the city. If time permits, you will also have the opportunity to visit other attractive sites in Marrakech. After your visit, you will return to your Riad for an overnight stay.

Today you will continue to discover more of Marrakech by visiting sites such as the Jardin Majorelle, a botanical garden and artist’s landscape garden, the Islamic madrasa (college) which is now a historical site, the Bahia Palace, a 19th-century palace that was first built by Si Musa, a grand vizier of the Alaouite sultan, and the Saadian tombs, a historic royal necropolis.
