Itinerary

On this first day of your 8-day private tour to the Morocco desert, you will be picked up from the airport or your accommodation in Fes and begin your journey to Merzouga Desert. You will pass through the city of Ifrane, known as the "little Switzerland of Morocco" and take a quick visit before continuing on to Azrou where you will stop to see the cedar forest and meet Berber apes. You will then head to Midelt for lunch and continue on through the Ziz valley and the middle Atlas mountains, stopping to see the second-largest palm grove in Morocco and enjoy the panoramic views from the top of the mountain. Next, you will visit the city of Erfoud, known for its fossil rocks, where you will have the opportunity to visit a local workshop to see how they convert simple fossil rocks into beautiful decorations. The weather will become increasingly Saharan as you approach Merzouga, the largest desert in Morocco. You will change from a 4x4 car to a camel for a 1-1:30 hour camel ride through the Erg Chebbi dunes. You will enjoy the sea of sand dunes while watching the sunset before arriving at your desert camp. Dinner will be served and you will be entertained by traditional Sahara music before spending the night at the camp.

On this day of your tour, if you wake up early you will have the chance to witness the sunrise over the dunes and experience sandboarding in the heart of Erg Chebbi dunes. After breakfast at your camp, you will ride your camel back to the village of Merzouga. You will then head to Rissani where you will stop to visit the traditional souk before continuing on to Tinghir via several Berber villages. You will enjoy the Oasis of Todra with its palm trees and panoramic views. Next, you will visit Todra gorges where you will have free time to relax and enjoy walking under the 300-meter high rocks and possibly see climbers scaling them. You will also have free time to relax near the cool water of the Todra River. Afterwards, you will leave for Dades Gorges for an overnight stay.

On this day of your tour, you will wake up early to continue your desert adventure by heading to Ouarzazate, known as the "gateway to the Sahara Desert". You will visit the Atlas film studio to see how the nearby desert landscapes have been featured in many films. Afterwards, you will visit the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ait Ben Haddou, the largest Kasbah in Morocco, which is located in the foothills of the Atlas mountains. You will have lunch there before leaving to head west to the modern cities. You will pass through the high Atlas mountains, stopping to admire the view from the top of Tizi n’Tichka Pass (7,415 feet or 2,260 m) and take photographs. You will arrive in Marrakech in the afternoon.

Today you will explore the Red City, Marrakech. Meet your tour guide, Begin directly to the busiest Square in North Africa, Jamaa El-Fna, a square where many people express their talent which is known in Morocco with “Halka” or “Halqua” (Street art), including thousands of markets and restaurants around. Visit the old Medina and enjoy the colors of small traditional markets, Back to Koutoubia Mosque, the largest mosque in the city 200 meters (660 ft), Leaving to Menara gardens, a historic public garden in Marrakech, It was established in the 12th century. Take free time to compare Moroccan architecture. Continuing to Majorelle Garden, Ben Youssef Madrasa, for a taste of 16th-century architecture, if the time helps, you will be able to explore other places such as Saadian Tombs, El Badi Palace, Bahia Palace. Transfer you to your Riad.

On this day, after breakfast, you will continue your tour of Morocco by visiting the Atlas coast. You will start in Agadir, then head to Essaouira, and end in Casablanca. Once you arrive in Agadir, you will take a walk along the Agadir beach, "Côte Atlantique d’Agadir" before visiting the Kasbah of Agadir Oufla, a landmark that once housed the old city of Agadir, much of which was destroyed by an earthquake. Then, you will visit the Souk El Had (Sunday market) to shop for traditional clothes and products. Afterwards, you will head to Taghazout to enjoy a glass of tea while watching the sunset. Finally, you will return to Agadir to spend the night in a local Riad or hotel.

On this day, after breakfast, you will begin a shorter tour to Essaouira via the Atlantic coast. Once you arrive in the port city of Essaouira, you will have the rest of the day to spend as you please. You can take a walk along the Skala de la Kasbah (the 18th-century seafront ramparts), enjoy seafood near the beach of Essaouira, or even take a camel ride on the beach. In the evening, you should not miss the opportunity to watch the spectacular sunset from one of the local restaurants while enjoying a glass of milk.

On this day of your trip, you will continue on to the final destination of Casablanca. Your first stop will be in Safi, known for its great surfing beaches and views of the Atlantic Ocean. Afterwards, you will head to El Jadida, a major port city on the Atlantic coast of Morocco, located 100 km south of Casablanca. You will have lunch there before leaving for Casablanca, where you will be transferred to your Riad for the night.

At the end of your 8-day Morocco desert tour itinerary, you will be transferred to the airport for your flight home. The tour concludes here, and it was a pleasure having you as our guest.
