After breakfast, you'll embark on a journey to the picturesque north of Morocco, starting with a trip through Berber villages and the Rif mountains en route to Chefchaouen. Along the way, you'll make a stop at Akchour for a 2-3 hour hike to take in the stunning Cascades d’Akchour. Upon arrival in Chefchaouen, you'll have the afternoon to explore at your leisure. Stroll through the charming Plaza Outa el-Hammam, the main square known for its historical hammams. Sip on mint tea at a local restaurant while taking in the beautiful view. Wander through the narrow, blue-painted streets, capturing romantic photos along the way. As the day comes to a close, return to your Riad to watch the sunset and relax.
Start your day early and head out to the streets to take pictures while there are fewer people around. Then, set off for Fes, making a stop along the way at the UNESCO-protected Roman ruins of Volubilis. This ancient city, established in the third century BC, was an important hub for the Roman Empire, known for its impressive buildings and intricate details. Although the ruins are incomplete, they are still worth exploring. Next, continue on to Meknes, your second imperial city. Be sure to visit the Bab El-Mansour gate, the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail, and the Royal Stables. Afterwards, head to Fes for the next day's tour of the city. Overnight in Fes.
Embark on a half-day adventure to explore the ancient imperial city of Fes, a UNESCO World Heritage site and home to the most well-preserved Medina in Morocco. Fes is divided into two main parts, Fes El-Bali and Fes El-Jadid, and you will spend most of your time in Fes El-Bali. Begin by visiting the Bab Bou Jeloud gate, which serves as the entrance to Talâa Kebira. Then, wind through the narrow streets of the Medina, taking in the sights and sounds of the markets and the wares for sale. Next, head to the rooftop of the city for a panoramic view of the Medina. Follow your driver guide to the Al-Qarawiyyin Library and Mosque, one of the oldest libraries in the world. After the tour, return to your hotel or Riad for dinner and an overnight stay.
