Itinerary

Welcome to Morocco and the city of Tangier! Your 5 days desert tour from Tangier guide will meet you at your port of arrival, airport, or accommodation. From there, you will travel to the picturesque town of Chefchaouen via Tetouan. Upon arrival in Chefchaouen, you will have the opportunity to explore the main square, Plaza Outa el-Hammam, named for the public baths that once surrounded it. Take a break and sip on mint tea at a local restaurant while taking in the stunning views. Wander through the narrow, blue-painted streets and snap some romantic photos. Later in the day, you will continue on to the imperial city of Fes.

Fes, one of the four imperial cities of Morocco, is a must-see destination for any traveler. Your guide will take you on a half-day tour to discover the city's rich history and culture. The tour will start in the medina, the oldest in Morocco, dating back over 1000 years. Here, you will have the chance to stroll through the bustling souks and get lost in the winding streets. The city is divided into two parts: Fes el Bali and Fes el-Jadid. One of the most important streets in Fes el-Bali is Talaa Kebira, also known as "the Great Slope/Climb." Next, you will visit the Al-Attarine Madrasa, a beautifully ornate school built by the Marinid sultan Uthman II Abu Said in the 14th century. After exploring the old city, you will head to the new part of the city, where you will see the charming Mellah Place and enjoy the picturesque views. After the tour, you will be taken back to your hotel or riad for the first night of your 5-day Tangier desert tour.

Today, you will embark on an exciting journey through the southeast of Morocco. You'll start early to head to Merzouga, passing through Ifrane, also known as the "little Switzerland of Morocco." You'll have a chance to quickly explore the city before continuing to the Cedar forest of Azrou, where you'll meet Berber apes and take lovely pictures. Along the way, you'll pass through Tizi n'Talremt, a range of the little Atlas mountains. You'll have lunch in Midelt before continuing on to the Ziz valley, where you'll stop at the second-largest palm grove in Morocco. As you continue your journey, you'll notice a change in the atmosphere and landscape, as you enter the Saharan region. You'll arrive in Erfoud, known as the "gate to the Sahara desert," and also famous for its fossils. You'll visit local workshops to learn how they transform fossils into decorations. From there, you'll head to Erg Chebbi and change your 4x4 vehicle for a private camel ride (one camel per person). You'll join an experienced camel guide for a unique excursion through the desert, where you'll learn tips and enjoy the best sand dunes and a beautiful sunset view. After the excursion, you'll head to a luxury desert camp where dinner will be served. You'll enjoy Sahara music with other participants before spending the night in a tent under the stars.

Start your day early to catch the beautiful sunset at the peak of the Merzouga Sahara desert, and try your hand at sandboarding or sand-skiing. After the sunrise, return to your desert camp for a quick shower and breakfast. Then, you will leave for Todra gorges via Rissani, making a stop at the local traditional souk (market). Along the way, you will pass through several Berber villages. Upon arrival in Tinerhir, you will have the chance to enjoy a panoramic view of the city from the Oasis. Then, you will continue to Todra river, which is surrounded by towering red rocks that reach almost 1000 feet (305 m) high. You may have the opportunity to see climbers scaling these rocks. You will have some free time to walk under the 305m rock, relax and do your own activities or just watch the cool waters of the shallow river below. After that, you will head to Dades gorges for overnight.

On the final leg of your 5 days desert tour from Tangier, you will journey through the Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs to Ouarzazate, where you will visit the Film atlas studio and pick your favorite film. From there, you will continue on to Morocco's most famous kasbah, Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The kasbah is a group of earthen buildings surrounded by high walls, and is a traditional pre-Saharan habitat. You will have free time to explore the area and take pictures. Lunch will be served in Ait Ben Haddou. After lunch, you will embark on a thrilling adventure across the High Atlas mountains, at an elevation of 2,260 meters above sea level, on the road between Marrakech and Ouarzazate. Enjoy the panoramic atmosphere and landscape. You will make a stop at Tizi n'Tichka to take lovely photos and relax before continuing your journey to Marrakech, where your 5 days desert tour from Tangier will come to an end.
